Saigon-Hanoi Commercial Bank (SHB) and Manchester City have signed an agreement in which the English Premier League football club will visit Vietnam for a friendly in Hanoi on July 27 with the Vietnam national football team.
Before the match, members of Man City will take part in activities held by event sponsor SHB such as visiting and presenting gifts to unprivileged children at SOS Hanoi Village, and meeting with fans and students in Hanoi.
According to Man City, the forthcoming trip to Vietnam is not only a promotion activity in Vietnam but an event to further the cooperation it had set up with SHB through an agreement signed in July last year, which started with the issuance of the SHB-Manchester City Visa co-branded debit card.
In a meeting on June 23, Francisco Lopez, business director at City Football Group (CFG), a holding company under the parent company Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG), the owner of Man City, agreed with SHB Chairman Do Quang Hien about plans to build a Man City football institute in Vietnam, and cooperate with SHB Danang and Hanoi T&T football clubs in training young players and couches to meet international standards.
