The Saigon Times Daily

A professional golf competition sanctioned by the Korean Ladies Professional Golf Association (KLPGA) and The Dàlat at 1200 Country Club & Private Estate (The Dàlat at 1200) will take place at the property’s golf course in March, The Dàlat at 1200 has announced.

KLPGA, Korea’s TV station SBS TV, and representatives of The Dàlat at 1200 have signed an agreement to organize the championship in three consecutive years, with the first competition set for March 22-27, according to a statement of The Dàlat at 1200.

Called “The Dàlat at 1200 Ladies Championship,” the event will gather 120 professional female golfers from Korea, Taiwan, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, China and Vietnam. They will compete for the US$420,000 prize. The cost for organizing this tournament is approximately US$3 million.

Televised live across five countries for five hours a day and delayed telecast in eight other countries, the championship is expected to increase awareness and interest across the region for Dalat City and Vietnam. At the same time, The Dàlat at 1200 Country Club and Private Estate will showcase its world-class villas, resort residences and recreation facilities, among others.

Tang Kay Hwa, executive director of The Dàlat at 1200, said: “This being the first professional ladies tournament to be held in Vietnam is a great opportunity to increase interest in the sport while also showcasing our property and Dalat City.”

The 18-hole golf course of The Dàlat at 1200 has been opened since September last year.

The Dàlat at 1200 was recently mentioned in the New York Times “52 Places to go in 2016” in which Dalat was named in the top 30.

Located 15 minutes from Dalat’s Lien Khuong Airport, it features three types of stand-alone villas as well as resort residences, allowing unobstructed views of the golf course, the lake and the surrounding mountains.

The Dàlat at 1200 is being developed by The Centurion Group of Singapore, a real estate developer with a portfolio across the Asia-Pacific region.
