HCMC - Google Launchpad Accelerator, a supporting program for startups through mentorship and equity-free support, was introduced in HCMC last Friday to look for growing businesses that provide products or services for Vietnamese people.
At a technology startup workshop, two Vietnamese startups, Haravan and ELSA Speak, which had been picked to benefit from Google Launchpad Accelerator, shared experience in joining the program. They have finished a two-week training course run by Google in San Francisco.
Huynh Lam Ho, CEO of Haravan, said the program was aimed at providing knowledge and financial and expertise assistance for startups to do business successfully. This is a good chance for Haravan to look for local and foreign partners to develop products, Ho added.
Van Dinh Hong Vu, co-founder and CEO of ELSA, said the program had brought many benefits for startups like ELSA.
Those businesses selected for this program will receive a US$50,000 grant and media support from Google, and can use products of Google. They are required to work with Google for six months.
A representative of Google said the program will give priority to tech startups that offer products or services for Vietnamese customers.
