Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV), in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, on April 13 presented 85 scholarships worth VND6 million each to young Vietnamese music talents in the school year 2016-2017.
The scholarship recipients are from five music schools, namely Vietnam National Academy of Music, Hue Musical Institute, HCMC Conservatory of Music, Tay Bac Musical College and Viet Bac Musical College.
Over the last 8 years, the company has awarded 730 scholarships to excellent students. This scholarship program has created chances for students to practice and perform with professional orchestras at big music events. For example, Pham Thi Duyen Huyen performed in Toyota Classics 2011 and Do Phuong Nhi in Toyota Concert in 2011 and 2013.
Especially, many students have won prestigious awards at international music contests such as Do Hoang Linh Chi, Phan Thien Bach Anh, Nguyen The Vinh and Hoang Ho Khanh Van, and scholarships to study in America, Japan and Europe.
The annual Toyota Scholarship for Young Vietnamese Music Talents program is funded by proceeds from ticket sales at Toyota Classics and Toyota Concert performances.
