International Yoga Day will be organized as a charity event from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. on June 18 at the Vietnam News Agency Representative Office, 116-118 Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street in District 3, HCMC.

International Yoga Day is a global event that combines yoga, music, and dance; and is meant to raise funds for charity. The event will feature a variety of inspirational teachers and world-class musicians which can take participants to a journey of mindfulness and sacred yoga mantra meditation.

Participants will pay VND200,000 for a seat in the Main Hall, and VND100,000 for Kids & Moms/Dads Yoga  in the Saloon Hall. The price is inclusive of light refreshments.

Proceeds from this event will be for support of Orphan Impact’s “Maker Academy”. Orphan Impact’s mission is to support children who are growing up in Vietnamese orphanages to be better prepared for their future after leaving the orphanage.

Orphan Impact carries out this mission by providing free Computer & Internet training programs, using lessons focusing on S.T.E.A.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths, Arts & Drama). The learning environment is designed to unleash creativity, encourage communication, develop critical thinking and increase each student’s confidence.

So far, Orphan Impact has installed computer labs at more than 20 Vietnamese orphanages and provided training for more than 635 students.
