The Italian team Martarello SRL won first prize on the final night of competition at the Danang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2017 last Saturday in the central coast city of Danang. Second and third prizes went to the Australia and UK teams respectively.

With nearly 96 years of experience in fireworks performance around the world, Martarello SRL presented a spectacular fireworks display accompanied with background music of the movie “Eragon”, which completely captivated the judges and watchers.

The Australian team, Howard & Sons Pyrotechnics, also fascinated the audience with an outstanding fireworks performance inspired by the theme colors of yellow and brown of the marble stones in Moc Son (Mountain of Wood) in harmony with sweet music melody.

The UK team attracted local and international visitors with a combination of different genres of music such as rock, pop, classical and contemporary.

The final day of fireworks competition themed “Wood” attracted over 22,000 tourists at home and abroad.

The special aspect of the festival was to help the audience gain an insight into the Five Elements Theory in which wood, fire, earth,  metal and water are believed to be the fundamental elements of everything in the universe.

Held for the first time in 2008, the Danang International Fireworks Competition (DIFC) serves as an international tourism and culture event to mark Vietnam’s Reunification Day (April 30). This year DIFC was renamed as DIFF with eight international teams attending. Different themes of the competition took place on the weekend over two months between April 30 to June 24.
