South Korean guitar prodigy Sung-ha Jung will return to Vietnam for a concert in Hanoi on August 26 and another in HCMC the next day.

The 21-year-old artist is famous for his finger style guitar playing technique. Finger-style guitar is a technique of playing the guitar by plucking the strings directly with the fingertips, fingernails, or picks attached to fingers.

He began playing the guitar at the age of five and has been famous through videos posted on YouTube and social media with over 991 million views and over 3 million subscribers by April, 2015, the Vietnam New Agency reports.

Jung has composed his own music in different styles and released eight albums. He has also worked with the world’s renowned guitarist including Tommy Emmanuel, Michel Haumont, and Kotaro Oshio and toured to many countries around the world.

Sung-ha Jung staged his first performance in the country in 2014 and this is the fourth consecutive year he made a performance tour in Vietnam.

His next Vietnam tour is supported by the Vietnam Fingerstyle Guitar Organization (VNFS), the first organization of percussive finger style guitar in the country which has thousands of members nationwide and provides a place for guitar enthusiasts to develop the genre, bring it to a more professional level and connect it with the international music community.

Tickets for his forthcoming show are now on sale at https://ticketbox.vn, with prices ranging from VND600,000 (US$26) and VND1.2 million (US$53).

The concert will take place at 8 p.m. on August 26 in Hanoi at the Youth Theater, 11 Ngo Thi Nham Street, and at the same time on August 27 at the HCMC Conservatory of Music, 112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1.
