HTV3 - DreamsTV channel in collaboration with Purpose Media Joint Stock Company has announced a new edutainment show originated from Denmark called Wonderkids, which will be aired on HTV3 - DreamsTV every Sunday starting from July 30.

In a statement sent to the Daily on Monday, the organizer says Vietnam has become the first Asian country to buy the program’s copyright from Banijay Rights, an international distribution division of Banijay Group known as a leading creator and producer of TV content worldwide.

The show is aimed at seeking and nurturing musical talents who have a special love for classical music and creating a healthy playground for young kids to satisfy their passion for arts.

After the qualifying round nationwide, six teenager finalists have been chosen to compete in the program. They are Le Hoang Dang Duy, a 10-year student from Trung Nhat Elementary School in HCMC’s Phu Nhuan District, Le Ngoc Van Anh, a nine-year-old student from the International School, Tang Nguyen Dan Vy, a 13-year-old student from Uc Chau International School, Pham Vu An, a seventh-grade student from Thai Van Lung Secondary School in Thu Duc District, Tran Hoang Bao, a seventh grader from Le Quy Don Secondary School in Thu Duc District, and Nguyen Lan Anh, a 12-year-old student from Bien Hoa City.

The six contestants are required to show their individual performances in four categories such as piano, guitar, vocal music and ballet. The winner will have the opportunity to claim the big prize worth US$65,000.

All participating candidates will be entitled to receive valuable prizes so that they can continue pursuing the passion for arts.

Musician Tran Tien and Vietnamese-Australian singer Thanh Bui have been invited to join the judging panel of the show.

The program will consist of 11 episodes and the first episode will be broadcast at 8 p.m. this Sunday on HTV3 - DreamsTV.

Earlier, HCMC Television (HTV) has joined hands with Purpose Media Joint Stock Company to turn HTV3 into an edutainment television channel which targets children, adolescents and families.

Starting from July 1, the channel has its new brand name HTV3 - DreamsTV with an aim to convey the message of “learn, love and laugh” to the audience.

Singer Thanh Bui, director of Purpose Media, said HTV3 channel is expected to bring knowledge, relaxation and values to adolescents and children.
