Hoi An City in the central city of Danang in partnership with the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam and other Japanese organizations will hold the 15th “Hoi An – Japan Cultural Exchange” event from August 18 to 20 in the ancient town of Hoi An in the central coast province of Quang Nam.

This year’s event will revive the wedding procession of Princess Ngoc Hoa, a member of the Nguyen royal family in Hue who got married to Araki Sotaro, a merchant from Japan’s Nagasaki in the 17th century, so as to treasure the establishment of ties between Vietnam and Japan.

Spectators will have the opportunity to watch cosplay and martial art performances and the Origami art of folding paper, which is promising to bring visitors wonderful experiences about the Japanese culture in the ancient town.

Aside from cultural activities, the organizer is expected to organize art shows at the An Hoi Garden of Statues, with the participation of Vietnamese and Japanese popular singers such as Min, Ueno Yuuka, and One Asia Join Concert music band.

The opening ceremony of the festival is scheduled to take place at 7.30 p.m. on August 19.
