GBA Oktoberfest Vietnam 2017, Germany’s famous beer festival, will take place in HCMC from September 21 to 23 and Hanoi from October 5 to 7.

Oktoberfest Vietnam has emerged as a major annual event to promote German culture to the Vietnamese and the international community in Vietnam and contribute to deepening ties between the two countries.

The event is expected to be awash with the authentic bustling atmosphere often found in the massive beer halls of the original Oktoberfest in Munich, replete with traditional German cuisine, premium imported German beers and exciting music shows performed by the Munich-based Anton Showband.

Organized by the German Business Association (GBA) in partnership with the Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam (GIC/AHK Vietnam), Oktoberfest Vietnam will allow German, Vietnamese and international revelers to immerse themselves in unforgettable moments with family, friends, colleagues and partners.

Marko Walde, chairman of GBA Vietnam and chief representative of GIC/AHK Vietnam, told a press conference in HCMC on September 12 that the event, under the patronage of the German Embassy in Hanoi and the German Consulate General in HCMC, is expected to attract 1,200 to 1,500 participants a day during the event, which makes it the largest German cultural event in Vietnam.

In HCMC, the event is scheduled to take place at the Hotel Nikko Saigon in HCMC’s District 5 from 6 p.m. until midnight while Oktoberfest in Hanoi will be held at the JW Marriott Hotel a week after. This is the fourth year that the JW Marriott hotel has cooperated with GBA to host the event.

Oktoberfest Vietnam has been recognized by Reuters as one of the top 10 Oktoberfest celebrations outside Germany.

According to the organizers, tickets are priced at VND1.1 million on the opening day and VND1.3 million per person in the next two days and discounts will be applied to GBA members and those buying tickets in bulk.
