UPS enhances sevices to ten more provinces

HCMC - UPS yesterday announced that it has enhanced services to 10 more provinces across central and southern region to support local businesses as they pursue greater cross-border trade.

They include Ba Ria-Vung Tau, Binh Dinh, Binh Duong, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Quang Ngai, Quang Nam, Tay Ninh, Thua Thien Hue, and Tien Giang.

Last June, the global logistics service provider also enhanced services in nine northern provinces comprising Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, Haiphong, Hung Yen, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, Thai Binh and Vinh Phuc, said Daryl Tay, managing director of UPS Vietnam, at a press meeting in HCMC yesterday.

Now Vietnamese customers in 19 provinces across the country will benefit from greater control over import and export shipments with time-definite express and freight delivery services.

Customers can also enjoy better shipment visibility with UPS’s proprietary tracking solutions, improved regulatory compliance with UPS’s brokerage solutions to mitigate risk, and increased efficiency with technology solutions like UPS Paperless invoice, he said.

At the press meeting, Daryl Tay explained his company has reduced the transit time for export and import shipments moving within Asia from two days to one, and cut the shipping time from Europe from three days to two.

This service enhancement is part of UPS’s long-term strategy to provide local small-and-medium businesses with greater access to global trade.

“Suppliers are under increasing pressure to provide more products and services of higher quality, at greater speed, and at lower cost... UPS’s customers in Vietnam can extend their production lead time to process more orders and still deliver goods to satisfy their end-consumers’ needs,” Tay said.

According to the company, Vietnam is the European Union’s (EU) second most important trading partner within the ten-member Association of South East Asian Nations (ASEAN) bloc, and is one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. UPS’s latest expansion of the UPS Worldwide Express Plus service saw its earlier morning deliveries expanded to 28 new countries including Vietnam, and enhanced in 25 existing countries including China, Japan and the UK.
