Contemporary concert slated for Sunday in town

A contemporary music concert titled “The Rainbow show” with the presence of more than 50 artists from the Saigon Orchestra will be held on a weekly basis at the HCMC Conservatory of Music from Sunday, October 8, the Government news website reports.

The concert is expected to take music enthusiasts through a journey from melodies of ethnic groups in the Northwestern region, hat Xoan (Xoan singing) and cheo (northern opera) in the Red River Delta, Hue’s folk verses to don ca tai tu (Southern folk music) in the Mekong Delta.

Artist Le Nhat Quang, founder of The Rainbow show, expressed his hope that the concert will help audiences not only learn more about Vietnamese music but also gain a deep insight into the country’s culture, nature and people.
