Associate professor Van Nhu Cuong passes away at 80

Associate Professor Dr. Van Nhu Cuong, former principal of Luong The Vinh High School in Hanoi, died at the age of 80 early yesterday morning after three years struggling with cancer, local media reports.

After nearly 30 years of strong devotion to the noble education cause, Cuong, a renowned mathematician, has received much love and care from his students. He was the founder of Luong The Vinh High School, one of the most prestigious private schools with good education quality in Vietnam currently.

Born into a family with a rich tradition of teaching in Quynh Luu District in the central province of Nghe An, he moved to Hanoi to pursue his major in Mathematics at the Hanoi University of Pedagogy and then served as a lecturer of the school after graduation.
