PM issues warning against Danang chairman

HCMC – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has issued a warning against Danang City chairman Huynh Duc Tho due to the Party’s discipline against him, said local news reports.

Tho, who also serves as deputy secretary of the Danang City Party Committee, was held accountable for violations and shortcomings in land management and urban order, according to the Party Central Committee’s Inspection Commission.

Besides, he failed to propose the municipal Party Committee approve officials for vacant positions in the city administration in line with the prevailing regulations.

Earlier, Nguyen Xuan Anh was removed from the post of secretary of the Danang City Party Committee given his dishonesty, his declaration and use of educational degrees not in line with regulations, and his violation of the Party norms.

Besides, Anh failed to set a good example in his capacity as senior Party member, as he used a car and two houses from local enterprises.

Anh also lost membership of the Party Central Committee as these irregularities caused serious consequences to the reputation of the Party and sparked grave concerns among Party members and the public.

Meanwhile, the municipal Party Committee violated rules on responsibilities of the provincial and municipal party committees, and broke regulations of the Central Party Committee and the centralized democratic principle on personnel appointments and transfers.

The committee did not seriously implement what the Politburo and the Central Inspection Commission had earlier recommended regarding infringements of land use and management rules.

The committee also illegally decided to let enterprises use public land in order to implement projects, and violated the 2013 Bidding Law while offering enterprises no-bid contracts in four out of six projects for developing offices of State-owned agencies.

The committee was also charged with mismanagement and insufficient inspections of land use and urban order.
