Young talented violinist Cao Hoang Linh bagged first prize in the Junior B group at the International Music Competition which wrapped up in Chiang Mai, Thailand on November 18, the Vietnam News Agency reports.

The event was attended by contestants from Canada, the UK, Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, China and Hong Kong, among others. The panel of judges included prestigious artists from the U.S., Italy, Argentina, Poland, Israel and Japan.

Born into a family without a music tradition, Linh has shown his artistic talent at a young age. Currently, the ten-year-old prodigy has been studying a fourth-year violin program with the guidance of lecturer Do Xuan Thang at the Vietnam National Academy of Music.

In the music competition, Linh got applauses from the judges for his stunning performance.

Earlier, he won a scholarship to take part in the international music session camp in the U.S. for two consecutive years. Recently, he has won a scholarship “Young talent of Vietnam’s classical music” and made a performance tour across the country.

After the music contest, Linh has been invited to join a summer music camp in Italy next year by Argentinean jury member Eduardo Delgado.
