Polish President Andrzej Duda meets Vietnam alumni

Polish President Andrzej Duda and his spouse Agata Kornhauser-Duda had a meeting with Vietnamese alumni of Polish universities on the occasion of the President’s State visit to Vietnam, according to local media reports.

Addressing the event in Hanoi on November 27, the Polish President praised the Vietnamese alumni’s contributions to promoting the country and people of Poland to the Vietnamese community.

He is pinning high hopes that more Polish literary works will be translated into Vietnamese to bring Polish culture closer to Vietnamese readers.

On the occasion, five Vietnamese individuals, namely translators Ta Minh Chau, Le Ba Thu, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thu, and Ho Chi Hung, general secretary of the Vietnam-Poland Friendship Association, and former Vietnamese ambassador to Poland Pham Kien Thiet bagged the noble medals from the Polish President for their efforts and contributions to boosting the close friendship and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Poland.

In related news, the First Lady of Poland Agata Kornhauser-Duda on Tuesday paid a visit to the Temple of Literature (Van Mieu Quoc Tu Giam) in Hanoi to learn about the Vietnamese history and culture, Vnexpress reports.

She also dropped by Marie Curie High School in the capital to attend a celebration of the 150th anniversary of the birth of Polish-born French physicist Marie Curie.
