Vanh Khuyen Kindergarten, funded by “Den Dom Dom” (Firefly Lantern) study encouragement program of Dutch Lady brand of dairy processor FrieslandCampina Vietnam, was inaugurated in Tay Giang District in the central province of Quang Nam, marking the 21st school of the social program which was launched in 2002.

The newly-operated school has three well-equipped classrooms built with funding from the Live & Give Foundation and is expected to assist ethnic kids in A Vuong Commune of the district to gain access to sufficient education.

Arnoud van den Berg, managing director of FrieslandCampina Vietnam, said that community activities are seen as a priority in the leading dairy milk company’s business development goals over the past 21 years.

FrieslandCampina Vietnam is striving to make the schooling dream of Vietnamese children come true through this social program, he added.

The opening of the kindergarten is a continuation of the mission of FrieslandCampina Vietnam to light up the dream of going to school of many underprivileged pupils in rural and remote areas and thus prop up the development of Vietnam’s education.

As one of the most outstanding social activities of the Dutch Lady brand during the past 20 years in Vietnam, the Den Dom Dom program has received great support from the community to help school children in poverty-stricken and rural areas.

To date, the program has funded the building of 21 schools nationwide and granted over 25,000 scholarships to needy children.

In 2013, the program was awarded a certificate of merit by the Government for its active contributions to the local community to make life better.

Live & Give is a Belgium-based charity organization and has joined hands with the “Den Dom Dom” program for years. The foundation has given financial support to build five new schools in remote and poor areas in Lam Dong, Thua Thien-Hue, Ha Nam, Long An, and Quang Nam provinces.
