Digital marketing makes life easier for companies

HCMC – Digital marketing helps companies measure the effectiveness of their campaigns quickly, and convey necessary information to their potential customers, heard a workshop on digital skills training jointly held by Google and the Saigon Times Group in HCMC on May 15.

The workshop is aimed at providing necessary knowledge of digital skills, thereby helping companies, especially small and medium enterprises, to promote their business activities. These skills are vital for enterprises to advertise their products.

The workshop is one of the Saigon Times Group’s activities to support enterprises in their development, said Editor-in Chief Tran Minh Hung.

Ha Lam Tu Quynh, communications and public relations manager at Google Vietnam, said local companies in any fields could become e-commerce businesses and micro-multinational enterprises. Google is supporting them in applying digital tools to develop and readily go global.

Hien Tran, another Google executive, said these companies should not miss the digital marketing channel in which around 50 million locals have joined. Companies could organize their marketing campaigns quickly, and assess their effectiveness easily.

Unlike traditional marketing methods such as sending out leaflets and hanging banners along roads, digital marketing helps companies connect with their intended customers, which is a crucial factor for the success of advertising and marketing campaigns, she added.

Google has recently provided new features on Google My Business such as creating websites and sharing posts on the business information page. The tech giant is seeking feedback from companies to streamline their online management tools and help enterprises better connect with its apps such as Google Search and Google Maps.

Google’s product expert Gary Nguyen said as many as 170,000 local companies have already registered their businesses on Google My Business. In this regard, Vietnam is ranked sixth in Asia.

He added companies could quickly create their websites which provide basic information about their food shops, retail stores and points of service provision on Google My Business.

Data of eMarketer showed Vietnam had more than 50 million Internet users last year, including around 44 million using smartphones.
