Maritime Bank in deal with IBM Vietnam

HCMC – The Hanoi-based Maritime Commercial Bank has inked a cooperation deal on technology infrastructure development with IBM Vietnam.
IBM Vietnam, according to a statement of the bank, will provide Maritime Bank with new services, solutions and products relating to banking technology information.
It will also send experts to support the bank in building and developing information technology (IT) plans, and strengthening IT human resources.
Tran Anh Tuan, general director of the local bank, said in the statement issued when the signing took place in Hanoi last Friday that in the bank’s development strategy, IT was seen an important factor to create banking services to meet customers’ demand.
Maritime Bank, which has total chartered capital of VND3 trillion, obtained good results last year, with pre-tax profit growing 132% to VND1.08 trillion. By late last year, the bank’s total assets had amounted to VND65 trillion.
