Cloud computing service market becomes bustling

HCMC – The cloud computing service market in Vietnam has turned more bustling than ever as several information technology enterprises are in a race to tap strong growth potential of this service.
Nguyen Van Hien, general director of iNet Solutions, said service providers have begun finishing infrastructure and commercializing their cloud computing services. Small and medium enterprises will be their strategic customers as cloud computing can help them cut the investment cost of information technology, he added.
According to experts, the cloud for enterprises mainly focuses on the public cloud and private cloud, helping them reduce costs and use the service flexibly.
The market has now attracted the participation of both local and foreign providers.
Vu Minh Tri, CEO of Microsoft Vietnam, said the cloud computing service market in Vietnam would grow rapidly in the coming time, especially in the small and medium enterprise segment.
Microsoft will offer the Office 365 Small Business Premium based on the cloud and designed for small businesses. This service consists of email, calendar, website tools and HD webconference.
Together with Microsoft, the global software company SAP will soon bring to Vietnam the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solution, the Business Intelligence (BI) software and the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
The cloud computing service market is not only the playing field for foreign information technology enterprises but also local ones.
Hien of iNet Solutions said the opportunity is open to local suppliers as cloud computing services foreign suppliers have brought to Vietnam did not meet the actual needs of Vietnamese customers. If local suppliers are able to grasp this chance and make proper investments, they can win on the home front.
Hien said iNet Solutions used to focus on supplying solutions for governmental agencies but now has shifted to solutions and software based on the cloud for enterprises.
DTS Communication Technologies Corp. last week started joining the market through cooperation with Cisco Systems to launch the Virtual Private Server (VPS) service which was developed based on the cloud infrastructure technology of Cisco-UCS in Vietnam.
Early last month, FPT Telecom International (FTI) and FPT Software launched the cloud computing-based Internet Camera (Camera IP), which can monitor and save data on FTI’s data center. This solution can also give warnings by email or messages as well as detect movements and faces.
Regarding the customer relationship management, GEN Technology Co. has launched the genCRM Cloud solution for two years with 30 customers so far. Meanwhile, with the business management, Technology and Media Investment-Development Co. (NEO) has offered the Cloud SME and secured 500 customers.
