Outdoor stage to move

HCMC – HCMC Parks and Greenery Company is preparing to relocate Trong Dong music performance stage in District 1 to Gia Dinh Park in Phu Nhuan District to make room for an underground car park.
Pham Van Hieu, vice director of the company, told the Daily late last week that the relocation of the stage to Gia Dinh Park could be done by this year-end right after the Hanoi-based Indochina Company Limited starts work on the car par.
The temporary Trong Dong stage will be operational at Gia Dinh park for two years, and then moved back to where it is after construction of the underground car park is complete, he said.
Nguyen Thi Bao Quynh, deputy general director of Indochina Company Limited, told the Daily that the company was completing all necessary procedures, so it could break ground for the project in the year-end.
The company will be responsible for renovating the 4,000-seat stage at 12B Cach Mang Thang Tam Street in Tao Dan park within 26 months during its car park construction. The company will also pay the operator of the stage nearly VND1 billion in compensation for lost revenue.
Indochina Company has received an investment license for the underground car park covering 54,500 square meters at Tao Dan Park surrounded by Cach Mang Thang Tam and Nguyen Du streets.
The car park will have nine basements to accommodate 560 cars at a time and three floors above the ground for commercial activities and public services. The project has total capital of VND900 billion and a lifespan of 50 years.
