Art exhibition on ethnic groups in city

The HCMC Association of Literature and Ethnics Arts has opened an exhibition on calligraphy works, artistic paintings and photos of ethnic groups at the Cultural Center in District 5, Tuoi Tre reports.

The event introduces 121 works selected from many related branches such as artistic lacquers made by Cham artisans, daily activities and Buddhism festivals of Khmer people, water-color paintings covering flowers and birds or fish and water.

Besides, there is a series of calligraphy works to be displayed. These pieces lively reflect masterpieces of many well-known Vietnamese poets, including Huyen Quang, Khong Lo, Nguyen Trai and Chu Van An.

All items are originals from the book themed Tinh tuyen tho co (The old poems selection), which also made its debut at the exhibition’s opening ceremony. The event, set to run until September 18, also features some ethnic musical instruments along with modern canvas. The Cultural Center is at 105 Tran Hung Dao.
