By My Tran in HCMC
Canon PhotoMarathon, which is open to anyone residing in Vietnam, returns to test photographic skills, creativity, endurance and competitors’ ability to perform under pressure.
This year’s contest, to be held on September 24 in Hanoi and October 1 in HCMC, is expected to break last year’s record total of entrants with an estimated 3,000 competitors.
As with previous contests, each contestant will receive three topics and will have three hours to complete each topic. Kicking off at 8 a.m., competitors will have a limited time to create and select their choice of photos to be handed over to the organizers.
The winning photos will be those that best express a theme in the allotted time and the names of the winners will be announced and awarded on the same day.
The two winners of the grand prize from Hanoi and HCMC will be rewarded with a product kit, which includes a Canon EOS 7D kit, photo printer PIXMA Pro 9000 MarkII, and the opportunity to participate in an eight-day all expenses paid photo clinic in Tasmania, Australia - the Island of Inspiration.
This year, besides the grand prize, winners of each topic will be rewarded with a number of valuable Canon products, including sets of Canon cameras and photo printers such as the IXUS 220 HS/115 HS, PowerShot A1200, Selphy CP800 and PIXMA iP2770. The total value of prizes is US$10, 000.
