Step up for dance showdown

MegarStar Media Company on Thursday launched a special dance competition before the dance movie “Step Up 3D” screens for the first time in Vietnam August 13.
Contestants, aged 12-29, can join the “Step Up 3D” contest in groups of three or six members.
Just post your dancing clips on YouTube or Facebook and send the links to Stepup3D@megastarmedia.net or to MegaStar office at MegarStar Hung Vuong Plaza, seventh floor, 126 Hung Vuong Street, HCMC’s District 5 before August 5.
There’s no limit to the number of clip but each person is allowed to join only one group. Each clip of about five minutes will have music, lyrics and dance moves suitable to Vietnamese culture.
The 20 most outstanding clips will be chosen for the finals at MegaStar Hung Vuong Plaza at 8p.m., August 8. The award night will take place at 5:30 p.m. on August 12 before the debut of the film.
The first prize is worth VND5 million while second and third places will get VND3 million and VND2 million, respectively.
Step Up 3-D is the third installment in the Step Up film series, directed by Jon Chu. In the film a tight-knit group of New York City street dancers, including Luke (Malambri) and Natalie (Vinson) find themselves pitted against the world’s best hip hop dancers. The film will open at MegaStar, Galaxy, Thang Long, Lotte cinemas on August 12.
