‘Pearls of the Far East’ nets film gongs in California

Vietnamese offering ‘Pearls of the Far East’ won awards for best music and cinematography at the 14th California Independent Film Festival (CAIFF).
The award-winning film takes the premise of seven love stories about seven women from different generations. It focuses on hope, frustration, real love and sexual desire as well as childhood and the path to maturity of every central character.
The film, directed by Cuong Ngo, features some stunning landscapes and honors the beauty of Vietnamese women. It stars Nhu Quynh, Truong Ngoc Anh, Hong Anh and Ngo Thanh Van.
The movie will be released nationwide next month.
