A concert primarily of young Vietnamese composers will be held at HCMC Opera House, 7 Lam Son Square, District 1, at 8pm on Friday.

The first part will be classical and contemporary compositions of Vu Viet Anh, Nguyen Manh Duy Linh, Do Kien Cuong and Tran Dinh Lang.

“L’Indochine”, by Vu Viet Anh, who is known for his movie soundtracks, will open the program. “L’Indochine” is full of romance.

“Fragile”, for violin, cello and piano, by Nguyen Manh Duy Linh, will have the audience traveling across unreal spaces with a sense of fragility.

Six preludes for piano by Duy Linh express the author’s feelings and thinking.

“Return to Home Town”, for violin, cello and piano, by Do Kien Cuong, uses Vietnamese folk songs.

“Drifting”, for violin, trumpet, xylophone, vibraphone and bass drum, by Tran Dinh Lang, breaks an old order colorfully.

The program will be completed with “Magnificat”, for choir and piano, by John Rutter, a contemporary classical British composer, performed by HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra, with master Tran Nhat Minh.
