Singer Thao Trang, one of the Vietnam Idol 2007’s finalists, has announced her plan to cooperate with Highland Coffee to release 500 copies of her new CD at Highlands Coffee shops nationwide.
Thao Trang’s first release La (Strange) with the hit “That Day That Month That Year” won the hearts of young audiences. With her emotion filled voice and stage presence, Trang’s performance of English and Vietnamese lyrics is applauded by critics.
The new album was released with the help of musician/producer Duong Khac Linh, executive director of Early Risers Music.
It features five songs in English and four songs in Vietnamese composed and mixed by Linh, Pham Cong Thanh, Minh Thuy and Antoneus Maximus.
The album is a combination of genres. Two songs in this album were used in the hit romantic-comedy De Mai Tinh screened in cinemas three months ago.
“To be a Vietnamese brand-name with an international vision, Highlands Coffee recognizes the potential of Thao Trang who can harmonize between modern and traditional,” said Simon Galbraith, marketing director of Viet Thai International at the press conference to introduce the album on Saturday.
Thao Trang will release four video clips from album - Angel in Me, Stranger, Superstar Girl and Trai Ngang (entanglement) - on the internet and tv.
Purchasers of “The New Me” CD signed by Thao Trang at Highlands Coffee shops have a chance to win a US$500 voucher to buy a diamond at Gems International Vietnam (GIV).
“The New Me”, her second album, will be sold for VND49,000.
