Big Dance attracts Hanoi students
Hanoi students will have a chance to join Big Dance, the world’s largest dance program which is set to take place in Hanoi at 2 p.m. tomorrow, to celebrate the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games, VietnamPlus reports.
The event will be hosted at Gia Thuy Secondary School in Gia Lam District and will kick off with the presence of a camping festival themed ‘Strength of Sports’. Hundreds of pupils from 14 local high schools will perform their dancing skills at the event.
Big Dance earlier this year came to HCMC, Danang and Haiphong and so far has attracted the participation of thousands of students from 103 high schools nationwide. It is part of the ‘Connecting Classrooms’ project by the British Council Vietnam in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Training.
“Big Dance has brought smiles to young people across the country, starting in HCMC and wrapping up in Hanoi. It is wonderful that they could take part in such a global activity to celebrate the upcoming London 2012 Olympics,” said director Robin Rickard of the British Council Vietnam.
Big Dance was first launched in 2006 by the Mayor of London and Arts Council England with more than two million participants worldwide since then.
