HANOI – Microsoft Vietnam Co. kicked off the iCafé program on Thursday to help Internet shops in the country use copyright Microsoft software at low cost.
The program runs till the end of the year to offer 70% discounts on Windows 7 and Office Pro Plus software for the Internet shops. Shop owners are required to have business licenses and pledge for legal software use for all their computers.
The legal software will help the computers to regularly update the latest information protection versions and ensure a safe business environment, said Microsoft Vietnam director Christophe Desriac. The shops will also receive technical assistance from Microsoft’s partners.
The program has been expanded in Thailand and the Philippines to help young people reach Internet information. We will also install software to help users learn basic Microsoft Office knowledge by themselves, Desriac said.
Vietbay, sDT, Vu Thao, TD &T, Hong Co and Tri Thuc have been named partners of Microsoft in the program.
