Bright prospects for woodworking industry

The year 2013 brought about big success for the woodworking industry when export revenues hit a record high of US$5.7 billion. Nguyen Ton Quyen, general secretary of the Vietnam Timber and Forest Products Association (Vifores), anticipated even brighter prospects for the woodworking industry this year with expected export revenues of US$6.2 billion. He talked to the Daily on the sidelines of a function in Hanoi on Tuesday when the EU announced funding of three million euros for wood-related projects in Vietnam. Excerpts follow.
