Golfer Jang An Soo, out of 140 players, who are regional executives, diplomats, and expatriates living in Vietnam, was crowned men’s champion of the charity golf tournament organized by the Movenpick Hotel Saigon and Movenpick Hotel Hanoi.
Meanwhile, his compatriot Park Chong Sook won the women’s event.
The organizers have yet to announce the total amount of money raised from participants and a raffle but they said all proceeds would benefit KOTO, a vocational training center for street kids and disadvantaged children and Heartbeat Vietnam, a lifesaving fund for poor children with heart defects around the country.
There were prizes given for ‘Nearest to the pin’ and ‘Longest drive’ but no one bagged the hole-in-one prize of a BMW X1 sedan.
This is the third charity golf event the two hotels have organized for needy children. The first two tournaments raised US$7,000.
