PepsiCo Vietnam and Saigon Times Foundation (STF) have donated 32 second-hand computers and gifts to three schools and the poor in Quang Nam Province.
The province’s sponsoring association for disabled, orphans and poor patients received two of the computers, while ten each went to Le Loi Elementary School in Hiep Duc District, Le Hoang elementary school in Phu Ninh District and Tien My Elementary School in Tien Phuoc District.
The donation was part of the project “Sponsoring computers to schools in remote areas” launched by STF and Thoi bao Vi tinh Sai Gon, a publication under the Saigon Times Group.
Ho Thi Thanh Lam, chairwoman of the sponsoring association and former vice chairwoman of the People’s Committee of Quang Nam Province thanked management and staff of PepsiCo Vietnam that have done numerous charity activities in the province.
The beverage maker has spent billions of dong to build houses, grant scholarships, support typhoon victims, donate to the poor at Tet, and provide IT support for students.
Project sponsors include CSC Vietnam, Victoria Can Tho Resort, PepsiCo Vietnam and Hogan Lovells International LLP.
PepsiCo Vietnam also donated two kindergartens to Dai Nghia Commune, Dai Loc District and another two to Tam Tien Commune, Nui Thanh District in the Province. The company contributed VND20 million to build a resident’s house.
