The final round of Vietnam’s Student in Free Enterprises (SIFE) contest is being held in HCMC on Friday for university students from Hanoi and HCMC.
The contest at Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center in HCMC’s District 7, provides a platform for students to show their business initiatives and leadership and honors young leaders who have contributed to the community.
Twelve teams will present their business project showing its positive impact on the community and sustainability. The judging panel of more than 60 experts and leaders of local and foreign businesses will choose the best team to attend the SIFE World Cup 2010 in the U.S. in October.
“This is really an interesting contest since the number of jury members exceeds the number of contestants. We need a large number of jury members to make the most accurate decision and many leaders want to take part in the contest to exchange ideas and experiences with young talents,” Tran Kim Thanh, Chairman of Kinh Do Group and head of the SIFE advisory board, said in a statement.
Five universities participated in last year’s contest which awarded the prize to Hanoi’s National Economic University. The team later attended the SIFE World Cup in Berlin, Germany and received the SIFE Spirit prize. Their project helped farmer breed earthworms to save energy, recycle industrial wastes and add value to products.
