Maritime Bank gifts 500 ‘Smiling Tomorrow’ scholarships

Vietnam Maritime Commercial Bank and Vietnam Investment and Development Group (VID Group) on Thursday granted 40 scholarships to needy pupils in Phu Yen Province’s Dong Xuan District as part of ‘Smiling Tomorrow’ program, which aims to provide 500 scholarships nationwide.
In response to the Action Month for Children, the Phu Yen branch of Maritime Bank will carry out charity projects to support children with disabilities or fatal diseases. The two donors expect to give 60 more scholarships to needy people having outstanding study results later this month.
Maritime Bank and VID Group also have plans to give 120 scholarships to disadvantaged pupils in Khanh Hoa Province on International Children’s Day today. The two sides earlier granted 300 scholarships in Quang Binh and Tay Ninh provinces.
The ‘Smiling Tomorrow’ scholarship program is being expanded in localities where Maritime Bank has set up branches.
The scholarships have a total value of VND2.5 billion.
