An online English contest ‘How much do you know about the champions?’ targeting high school pupils nationwide has kicked off at www.thitienganh.vn under arrangement of the British Council and the English Premier League football championship.
The competition, whose deadline is July 15, includes two parts. The first round challenges contestants with 15 optional questions and the second offers a writing task for an essay of less than 200 words.
Contestants must have at least 10 right answers from the 15 questions to enter the next round from which the 15 best essays will go to interview with only five winners selected.
From today until July 12, teachers and students across the country can vote for ‘Ideas for a favorite lecture’ at ELT Vietnam Facebook. This is a competition with the Premier Skills subject arranged for local high school English teachers.
Five finalists of the contest will net five iPad 2s while 15 others will scoop consolation awards. Five people will be selected at random weekly by the system to net a special prize.
The contest is part of the Premier Skills project, organized by the Premier League and the British Council worldwide, with all exam questions sourced from http://premierskills.britishcouncil.org/.
