Children’s choir wins bronze at WCG
The New Hanoi Choir have returned home after winning bronze at the 6th World Choir Games (WCG) in China, reports VietnamPlus.
The national choir impressed the jury and audience with performances of two Vietnamese folk songs ‘Trong Com’ and ‘Bac Kim Thang’. The folk song category attracted nearly 50 choirs from 30 countries and territories worldwide.
As well as competing, the Hanoi New Choir together with other choirs from Australia, the Philippines, South Africa and host China performed for an audience of 1,000 people in China’s Zhejiang Province.
Coinciding with the 2,500th anniversary of Zhejiang City, the World Choir Games attracted 430 choirs from 100 countries and territories around the world. The opening ceremony was broadcast live on July 1 to five continents.
