Two young dancers - Dang Quan aged 11 and Bao Ngoc aged 7 - from Hanoi won the first season of Vietnam’s Got Talent at the final held last Sunday at Lan Anh Theater in HCMC’s District 10.
Their performance which had the theme ‘Stop war and bring peace to the world’ gained the most votes from the audience ahead of amateur pop singer Vo Trong Phuc from HCMC, self-taught musical artist Nguyen Huong Thao from Hanoi and Vu Song Vu, a child singer from Haiphong City.
Ngoc and Quan only paired up over a year ago under the instruction of young choreographer Chu Quynh Trang who has won a lot of dance-sport awards nationwide. Even though they have only spent a short time together, they have mastered some tough moves and gained several prizes at dance contests in Hanoi.
Ngoc, who started to dance at four, said she will donate most of her cash prize to help members of Nghi Luc dance troupe who reached the semi-final of this year’s contest.
Quan practiced dance-sport three years ago with Vietnam’s national dance-sport athlete Chi Anh, one of the judges of Dancing with the Stars for the last three years. He also has passion for ballet, belly-dance, singing and Michael Jackson moves.
Ngoc and Quan won a cash prize of VND400 million.
