The audiences of football reality shows aired on the channels of Vietnam Television (VTV) have picked the best group of 12 teenagers from 24 qualifiers in Vietnam to join the 2010 International Coca-Cola Football Camp Tournament in South Africa in June.
The audiences voted the 12 players of FC 3 Regions by sending SMS messages via the number 8372 from April to May 7 when they watched shows featuring the challenges and daily activities of teenagers as part of The Road to South Africa program.
VTV broadcasted the reality shows on different days of the week for football fans to choose the 12 best teenagers participating in challenging daily activities.
One of the shows covered days of challenges at Thanh Long Stadium in HCMC where 24 finalists were guided with football skills and then divided into two groups for games as part of the camp tournament.
Audiences had chances at winning prizes, including an Adidas T-shirt and balls, by providing correct answers to questions on the reality shows.
Coca-Cola Vietnam will give two prizes worth a trip to South Africa to the lucky message sender and the one with the most creative celebration of a goal. Football fans can load their video clips featuring the ways they celebrate goals on www.coca-cola.zing.vn by May 31.
The message and video clip winners together with the best 12 teenagers aged 12 to 15 will join the 2010 International Coca-Cola Football Camp Tournament. These teenagers will gather at Thanh Long Stadium from June 3 to 13 for their last training before departing for South Africa.
At 5 p.m. on June 18 and 25 and July 2, VTV3 will air three 30-minute reality shows about the training courses and activities the 12 teenagers joined days ahead of their trip to South Africa.
More than 270 teenage players and representatives from Brazil, Canada, Egypt, Finland, India, Italy, Greece, Mexico, Romania, Turkey, Russia, South Africa, Sweden, the United States, Venezuela, Vietnam and other nations will participate in the tournament.
The 2010 International Coca-Cola Football Camp Tournament comprises football skill development courses, real games and matches of the FIFA World Cup kicking off in less than a month in South Africa.
