Vietnamese wins bronze at Sydney guitar contest
A third-year Vietnamese student at the Australian International Conservatorium of Music, has won a bronze medal in the Sydney Performing Arts Classical Guitar competition in Sydney, Australia, reports VietnamPlus.
At the annual national competition for art school students 18 years or older, Le Thanh Binh performed two pieces - Serenade by Schubert/Liszt/Mertz and Va La Muerte Del Angel by Astor Piazzolla/Leo Brouwer.
The jury included members from the Sydney Guitar Trio said they were impressed by his playing.
Binh, born in 1990, began studying guitar at the age of eight with his father. He enrolled into the Hanoi Conservatory of Music in 2004.
In 2006, he won first prize at an international guitar contest. At that time, he won a scholarship at the Australian International Conservatorium of Music.
