By Thoa Nguyen in Hanoi
Vung Tau will host the World Food Festival 2010 from July 21-25, to give Vietnamese and foreign food lovers the chance to enjoy diverse dishes from all over the globe.
The festival will span 3 kilometers along Thuy Van Beach and will promote Vietnamese cuisine and culture to international tourists.
With five core themes – food, culture, festivity, shopping and relaxation – the event promises something for everyone.
The festival will showcase traditional meals prepared by famous chefs as well as an array of useful products. There will also be a colorful street parade with thousands of representatives from more than 80 nations and territories worldwide and 63 cities and provinces in Vietnam. Bartenders will create cocktails, while famous international DJs perform too.
The organizers hope the event will make the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s largest food festival held in the biggest space. They also hope to hold the event annually.
