The Japanese Foundation in Vietnam will host a training program on furoshiki arts at the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations, 31 Le Duan Boulevard in District 1 on Thursday and Friday.

The program will introduce Japanese cultural enthusiasts to the skills of wrapping presents with furoshiki fabric and reinforce environmental protection by reviewing the 3R movement, reduce, reuse and recycle.

Furoshiki is a kind of colorful fabric covered with good-looking patterns. It is used to wrap gifts or decorate living spaces. As a symbol of thrift, it is environmentally sound with its potential to be recycled.

To join the program, register at the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations, tel: 3829 6238, or the Consulate General of Japan in HCMC, tel: 3914 2570.
