The Carnival of the Divine Imagination, an Australian fire performance art group, is heading to HCMC for their unique performance and workshops after having reaped generous rounds of applause from the on-going Hue Festival in central Vietnam.
Arranged by the Australian consulate general in HCMC, the Australian circus performers will share the stage with their Vietnamese counterparts at the 23/9 Park Circus Center in District 1 starting at 7.00 p.m. on June 15.
The mysterious and playful show combines circus acts with artistic pyromania and body movement reflected in ultraviolet light. One of the highlights of this event is the group’s latest work “Elixia.”
Intended for audiences of all ages, “Elixia” is a tale of two companions’ depravation, separation, escape and reunion. The Carnival of the Divine Imagination staged this work over the weekend at the festival in the former imperial capital of Vietnam.
People all over the world have admired this show for its striking and energetic displays of fire and luminescence.
Australian consul general Graeme Swift said bringing the artists to HCMC and introducing Australian creativity to the local people was an honor. “The performance will feature a large Australian presence, strengthening people-to-people links between Australia and Vietnam and enhancing an understanding of contemporary Australian art.”
In HCMC the group will also participate in workshops to provide a platform for skills exchange and an understanding of each country’s culture.
Tickets for the show in HCMC are available at the Circus Center, 23/9 Park, District 1, HCMC.
