A painting exhibition called “Emotion” by artist Ngo Chinh opened at Tu Do Gallery, 53 Ho Tung Mau Street in HCMC’s District 1 on Monday.
The exhibition features 30 lacquer paintings and two copper-engravings depicting the artist’s diverse emotions about people and life, including his own.
“I have passed many ups and downs of life and I embrace many feelings of what I have experienced, heard and seen. I do not want my sensation to be callous and I do not want my emotion to be lost in the bustling and hustling life, so I depict them all in paintings,” said Chinh.
Chinh’s emotions run from appreciation and gratitude to national heroes to nostalgia in “The God of Bamboo,” affectionate emotion of love in “Wings to Wing,” or a sense of the beautiful life in “Spring”.
Emotions can be preoccupations of life via “Power of Money” and “Fleeting Happiness”.
The exhibition runs till March 11.
