By Tuong Lan in Hanoi
A multi-media exhibition including performances, installations, video art, experimental music and body painting by Phuong Vu Manh called Life will open at the French Cultural Center, L’Espace, 24 Trang Tien Street in Hanoi at 6 p.m. on Friday.
“Installation, video art, body painting, performances and experimental music, each of them has a unique way of portraying and defining contemporary art. Together they have the power to speak as one, to reflect the contemporary life with beautiful images as well as the dark side of modern life. It is like a mirror reflecting wisdom of humans as well as their limits, showing visitors contributions of humans to society as well as damages they cause for the community,” said Manh.
At the exhibition, visitors will see works of body painting with messages for life and will perform together with installations, lights and sound to express life in darkness and light. Meanwhile, the installation work contains images of nature and daily life where humans suffer disasters caused by the development of modern life.
Sounds of the exhibition are voices of life where people are living with noises and piercing screams while paintings depict the chaotic status of people and nature.
The exhibition will run till March 26.
