Cathay United Bank has arranged a VND300 million scholarship program to support underprivileged pupils, with 300 scholarships given to pupils in Quang Nam Province and another 300 on their way to HCMC pupils a week tomorrow.
In association with Quang Nam Province’s Study Encouragement Association, the Taiwan-based bank on Thursday deployed the program in the locality through the Lawrence S. Ting Community Assistance Fund.
Another 300 scholarships from the lender will be granted to pupils from poor backgrounds in HCMC through the charity fund. Each scholarship is worth around VND500,000.
Thanks to the fund’s support since 2008, Cathay United has assisted nearly 5,000 poor pupils with around VND2.5 billion contributed.
