GreenFeed Vietnam and Tuoi Tre newspaper last week granted over VND1.6 billion to 120 poor farming households in Hai Duong and Ha Nam provinces.
The donation was among activities in the program ‘Funding farmers to bring their children to school 2012’ program which will give non-interest loans to farmers. The aim of the program is so that the households can start, maintain or develop their breeding or farming projects to ensure a better life for their children and to support their study.
Each household in the provinces received an interest-free loan of VND12 million over two years and GreenFeed animal-food worth VND2 million.
The organizers also handed over 120 awards worth VND500,000 each to children with good academic records from these households and other five special gifts worth VND600,000 each to five families in each province.
In the first phase of 2010-2012, the organizers have assisted a fund of VND3 billion to 240 poor farming households in Long An, Binh Dinh, Hung Yen and Dong Nai provinces and over 200 scholarships worth VND200 million to good students from these households. In the second phase of 2012-2014 the organizers raise its fund up to VND10 billion to assist 480 farmers in Binh Thuan, Ben Tre, Tra Vinh, Hai Duong, Ha Nam, Dak Nong, Lam Dong and Quang Nam provinces.
