Unilever, Unicef team up for sanitation project

By Thoa Nguyen in Hanoi

Unilever Foundation along with Domestos, a brand of household cleaning products labeled Vim in Vietnam, are partnering with Unicef in the ‘Community Approaches to Total Sanitation’ (CATS) project.

Unilever and Unicef will improve the quality of life by improving the environment with clean water and sanitation and basic nutrition as well as raising public awareness of the issues.

Besides, Domestos/Vim will contribute 5% of average proceeds from products sales in the appropriate country to support CATS programs in South Sudan and Vietnam.

The fund has cooperated with Unicef in promoting and deploying relief activities in case of natural disasters and emergencies.

There are over 2.5 billion people globally without access to hygiene improvement programs and are at risk of fatal diseases due to poor hygiene.
