Winners of Vietnam Tourism Awards Named

The Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the Vietnam Tourism Association granted the Vietnam Tourism Awards 2009 to leading travel companies, hotels, including 19 Green ASEAN hotels, and tourism service companies last month in Hanoi
Of the winners, there are 18 affiliates of Saigontourist Holding Company. Dong Khanh Hotel in HCM City and Saigon-Can Tho Hotel in Can Tho City were listed among the top ten three-star hotels in 2009.
Seven hotels and resorts under the umbrella of Saigontourist were listed among the top ten four-star facilities in Vietnam in 2009. They are Grand Saigon Hotel, First Hotel, Continental Hotel, Yasaka-Saigon-Nha Trang Hotel, Saigon-Phu Quoc Resort, Saigon-Morin Hotel and Saigon-Halong Hotel.
Saigontourist’s Majestic Saigon Hotel and Rex Saigon Hotel were ranked in the list of the top ten five-star hotels of the country.
There were two affiliates of Saigontourist in the list of international travel companies winning the awards. They are Saigontourist Travel Service Company and Tan Dinh-Fiditourist Company. These two companies also won the awards for domestic travel companies.
Ten Saigontourist’s affiliates won the ASEAN Green Hotels awards. They are Saigon Mui Ne Resort, Saigon Binh Chau Resort, Kim Do Hotel, Caravelle Hotel, First Hotel, Grand Saigon Hotel, Continental Hotel, Majestic Saigon Hotel, Rex Saigon Hotel and Que Huong 4 Hotel.
Among the 18 winners of Saigontourist, Saigontourist Travel Service Company was acknowledged as the “Top Ten International Travel Companies in 2009” and “Top Domestic Travel Companies in 2009” titles. Last year, Saigontourist Travel Service gained revenue of more than VND1 trillion and served more than 270,000 tourists. Particularly, Saigontourist Travel Service managed to overcome the difficulties of the economy in the 2008-2009 period in general and of the tourism industry in particular, obtaining outstanding business achievements. The company attained VND2 trillion and served 600,000 domestic and foreign tourists in this period. Saigontourist also launched a series of programs to promote and polish Vietnam’s tourism and its tourism brand names in the international market.
Saigontourist was established in August 1975, specializing in travel, hotels, restaurants, and various tourism services. The holding company now has around 100 affiliates throughout the country.
