During the seventh month of the lunar calendar, Vietnamese traditionally eat vegetarian food to express gratitude and filial piety to parents and forefathers.
Moreover, eating vegetarian food is regarded as being good for your body and soul.
The Metropole Wedding Party and Conference Center in HCMC under management of Saigontourist will offer a vegetarian food program to call for the public to help unprivileged children via gifts and donations.
The center will place a donation box in the lobby for guests to offer something for those in need when they come to Buffet Chay (vegetarian buffet).
Vegetarian food is also a newish trend in modern life to keep fit and stay healthy.
Diners will be served a wide range of dishes such as curry, familiar dishes made of noodles and bun (rice vermicelli) such as bun mam, hu tieu, mi hoanh thanh, pancake, a vast range of salads and sweet soup. The highlight of the buffet is signature dishes made of pumpkin.
The buffet area will be decorated like a miniature Vietnamese countryside area with a river wharf, yard, bamboo clusters and green rice fields, bringing to revelers a peaceful place to relax and recall childhood memories.
The buffet will be prepared from August 16 to September 16. Adults will pay VND140,000 for lunch and VND190,000 for dinner.
On full-moon festival night admission is VND210,000. Children will pay VND90,000.
