HCMC – Transimex Company (TMS) has sold 2.89 million convertible bonds to 311 investors, including 292 individuals and 19 organizations. The two-year papers have a face value of VND100,000 each. TMS has raised VND287.9 billion from the issuance. It will use the proceeds to restructure loans taken for its high-tech park project and to supplement working capital.

HANOI – Petrolimex Information Technology and Telecommunications Company (PIA) will make a dividend payment at 48% for 2017 with the record date set for June 21. Of the amount, the firm will spend an estimated VND5.4 billion paying a dividend of VND1,800 per share on July 23 and will issue 900,000 shares to pay a share dividend at 48%. The firm currently has three million outstanding shares. After the issuance, the firm will raise its registered capital to VND39 billion. Earlier in May, Petrolimex, Vietnam’s leading fuel distributor, sold its entire stake in PIA to Petrolimex Group Construction and Trading Corporation-Joint Stock Company (PG Contrade Company), a unit of Petrolimex. Therefore, PG Contrade Company is the largest shareholder of PIA, with a 50.3% stake.

HCMC – Viet Capital Securities Company (VCI) has decided to issue 42 million shares at a 10-for-3.5 ratio, thereby raising its total outstanding volume from 120 million shares to 162 million shares. VCI plans to conduct the issuance in the second or third quarter of 2018.

HCMC – The State Bank of Vietnam last month reduced the treasury bill issuance due to weaker bank system liquidity to VND57.5 trillion from VND67.9 trillion in April and VND130.8 trillion in March. In May, the central bank net injected VND10.9 trillion via T-bills and reverse repos compared with a net injection of VND58.6 trillion in April, said Viet Capital Securities Company.

HCMC – Dry Cell and Storage Battery Company (PAC) will spend VND139 billion paying a dividend of VND3,000 per share for 2017. Currently, the firm has 46.48 million outstanding shares. It will make the payment on July 10. Earlier, it received approval from its shareholders to offer a dividend payment ratio of 45% for 2017. In the first quarter of this year, PAC earned a net profit of VND29.4 billion on revenue of VND729 billion, up 41.4% and 5.4% year-on-year, respectively.

HCMC – Binh Dinh Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Company (DBD) has received approval from the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HOSE) to float 52.3 million shares on the main stock exchange on June 16. The shares will be traded at a starting price of VND48,000 each. The bourse currently applies a trading band of 20% for debut listings. DBD has registered capital of VND523.79 billion, of which Binh Dinh Development Investment Fund holds a 33.34% stake. The firm has developed distribution channels in 15 provinces and cities, with 18 branches and 49 drug stores nationwide.

HCMC - Fitch Ratings has assigned Vietnam Electricity (EVN) a Long-Term Foreign-Currency Issuer Default Rating (IDR) of “BB” with a stable outlook. The agency has also assigned EVN a senior unsecured rating of “BB”. EVN is the first government-linked non-financial corporation rated by Fitch in Vietnam.
